10 best iPhone 6s cases
If you've splashed out on one of Apple's latest smartphones, you'll need something to shield it from knocks. IndyBest protects the tech.
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. If you are now the proud owner of the iPhone 6s, the latest iteration of Apple's flagship smartphone, you'll most probably want a case to protect it. Whether you're just looking for something to act as a buffer against the bumps and scrapes of daily life, or if you're planning to take your phone off-road, we've compiled a round-up of the best cases - in terms of strength, looks and price.
The iPhone 6s is a fraction of a millimetre bigger than it's predeccessor, the iPhone 6, so cases for the older model will still fit the newer version. We've therefore included some proven favourites, as well as new designs released specifically to coincide with the launch of the 6s.
1. Shannon by Ted Baker: £35, Proporta
Fashion brand Ted Baker makes a range of glamorous cases, including this one in a pinky metallic faux leather with rose gold edging. After the perfect selfie? The screen protector doubles up as a mirror, so you can touch-up before taking a snap.
2. Optrix Body Glove Pro: £112, amazon
This is a genuinely adventureproof case that can survive significant drops and being submerged 10-metres below water. It comes with four different lenses which transform the phone’s camera capabilities.
3. Leather case: £35, apple
Crafted by the same Apple designers who created the iPhone 6s, this case is as sleek and sophisticated as the phone it protects. Made using hard-wearing leather, it comes in five different colours.
4. Duo Tough Extreme: £20, more-case
Some super-strength cases often go for an overly rugged look, as if to prove a point. But this case combines ultra-durability and style. It has a raised edge that will make contact with the floor before your screen does.
5. Defender:£31, amazon
OtterBox leads the pack when it comes to protective cases, with each product undergoing more than 230 hours’ worth of rigorous testing. Made of the toughest plastic, it’s definitely capable of enduring the bumps and scrapes of daily life, and significantly more.
6. Access Case 2:£50, NODUS
This handmade case from UK-based design outfit Nodus is classy and understated. It’s made from quality Italian leather and, for an extra £14.99, you can buy the Micro Dock, a small magnetic plate that allows you to mount your iPhone pretty much anywhere.
7. Casetify: £25, Casetify
If you can’t find a design you like, try Casetify. Using the online software, you can upload images — from social media or elsewhere — place them on the case and even include emojis. It all comes in a matte finish.
8. Neo Hybrid EX: £12, amazon
Want the protective benefits of a case but don’t want to compromise the look of the iPhone? Then opt for the this one, which is almost entirely see-through.
9. Mophie Juice Pack Air Battery Case: £70, amazon
There’s nothing worse than running out of battery when you’re chargerless. Luckily, this case can fully recharge your phone on-the-go and weighs just over 100 grams, so isn’t bulky.
10. Supcase Water Resistant Full Body Protective Case: £20, amazon
You won’t get bored with the look of your case here, as this comes with three interchangeable back plates. It’s water-resistant enough to deal with rain and splashes.
Verdict
A case's fundamental purpose is to protect your phone from damage, and with that in mind, we have to go with the solid OtterBox Defender. Despite the meticulous testing process, it doesn't compromise on style. It only costs £40, too, which is a bargain considering how much money it could save you on repairs.
