The 37th International Emmy Awards sees Asia and Latin America dominating this year's list of nominees. The TV equivalent of the Oscars, with nominations spanning 17 countries, the competition involves three rounds of judging over six months by 600 judges in 50 countries.

Yellowstone Ski Festival

Cross-country skiers of all ability levels come to the Yellowstone Ski Festival 2009 to start off their cross-country skiing season. The festival has taken place for over 30 years and attracts skiers from across North America, as well as from around the world. Past festivals have attracted over 3,000 skiers to the Rendezvous ski trails in the most popular national park in the United States.

Andreas Hofer

A major exhibition of works by German artist Andreas Hofer will be presented at the Sammlung Goetz in Munich, Germany from November 2009 to April 2010. More than 70 individual artworks, including sculptures, installations, drawings, collages and large-scale pieces in mixed media, will be shown in the gallery. The exhibition will be curated by the artist himself and will delve into the subjects of imagination and iconography in contemporary popular culture.
