Wednesday and Thursday's selection: Las Vegas hosts the biggest consumer technology trade show in the world, Miami organizes its international art fair and Phuket its boat show, among other events.

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the world's largest consumer technology trade show. It is a highlight on most technology-minded people's calendar because it welcomes numerous high-profile technology companies and is the launch-place for many groundbreaking new gadgets and high-tech products. In 2010 the show will focus on green technology, with more than 30 exhibitors coming to the event to demonstrate environmentally friendly product concepts. Mobile Applications will also feature en masse at the event as analysts are predicting Apps to be one of the hottest global technology trends for 2010.

Miami International Art Fair

The Miami International Art Fair is the first major art fair in 2010. A worldwide selection of contemporary art, photography, video art and installation art from galleries hailing from every continent will be on show at the event. The Miami International Art Fair will feature more than 100 major public sculptures crafted by renowned artists. A series of lectures with influential speakers from the Latin American and International Contemporary art scenes will run concurrent to the event. Other highlights at the fair include "Next Generation: 30 artists under 40," and a special exhibition, "Focus Argentina."
