More than 2,100 exhibitors from 25 countries will showcase their wares as they vie for a niche in one of the largest underdeveloped car markets in the world. Two of the key unveilings at the biennial show will be Toyota's brand new small car dedicated to the Indian market as well as the debut of the Prius on the subcontinent.

5 at the company's Mountain View, California, headquarters, amidst rumors that it is for a possible new product announcement - the launch of a Google-branded phone. The first Android-powered phone was launched a year ago.
Palm Springs International Film Festival

A gala awards event will kick off the Palm Springs International Film Festival, presenting tributes to an illustrious group of actors and film talents, at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The 21st annual event, January 5-18, will screen 200 films from 60 countries.
