Flight of the Conchords grounded

New Zealand musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords confirmed Friday they would not be returning for a third season of their Emmy-nominated US television series.
Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement said on their website their HBO series had reached an end.
"We've noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won't be returning for a third season," they said.
"We're very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended."
The series about a hapless pair of New Zealand musicians trying and failing to win fame and fortune in New York became a cult hit. The show received five Emmy nominations this year and four in 2008.
"While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist," the pair said.
