Half a million people are expected to check out the latest advances to come out of the world of gaming in Hong Kong. The Chinese industry alone is worth 26 billion yuan (€2.6 billion) and so organizers are tempting consumers also with live competitions, giveaways and (of course) the "cosplay'' kings and queens who likes to dress up as their favorite fantasy characters.

'Sherlock Holmes,' film release
December 24-26

Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. as title character, an updated version of the famous Arthur Conan Doyle detective, is being released in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea on December 24 and the USA on December 25 and in the UK on the 26.

Animamix Biennial

Contemporary art and animation collide at the international Biennial of Animamix. The exhibition covers a developing trend of emerging artworks that are created by or are the derivative of comic animation. Animamix examines the subculture and the integration of Animamix (the art of animating comics) with clothing design, food packaging, and within the home. The international Biennial will be hosted by four museums, MoCA Shanghai, MoCA Taipei, MoCA Kaohsiung and Today Art Museum in Beijing. Organized in collaboration with Shanghai eArts Festival.
