Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. She called him “Napoleon” and “a nightmare to work for” and his associates called her “dumb” but Hollywood director Michael Bay and Megan Fox seem to have buried the hatchet and are set collaborate again on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Fox will play April O’Neil, a human friend to the pizza-loving Ninja Turtles, in the live-action and CGI movie Bay is producing for Paramount.
Bay released the news on his website, saying: “TMNT: We are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!”
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the pair have met several times recently to talk over the differences that emerged between them when they worked together on the Transformers franchise and are now fully reconciled.
In 2009 Fox said of Bay: “He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for, but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so hopelessly awkward.”
Fox was subsequently branded “dumb”, “ungracious” and “rude” by three anonymous members of the Transformers crew who published an open letter to her on Bray’s website and signed it “Loyal Transformers Crew.”
Jonathan Liebesman will direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtleswith Bay producing.
The roles of the Ninja Turtles Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael have not yet been cast.
