As the fashion season gets ready to open with Milan's ready-to-wear men's shows on January 16, multiple events are scheduled in Italy's trendiest city in the areas of arts and design with I Saloni, music with the Arctic Monkeys' tour stop, and of course the fashion extravaganzas.

The fall/winter 2010/11 collections will be showcased in European fashion capitals, with Milan starting the presentations January 16 and Paris following January 21.

Music: Arctic Monkeys

The British band will continue touring in support of its 2009 album Humbug. In January, the European leg of the tour will begin in Milan, making its way through France, Portugal, and Spain, and ending in Dusseldorf, Germany, on February 10.

Design: "Green Life: Building Sustainable Cities"
February 5 - March 28
La Triennale di Milano

This international exhibition showcases urban development projects based on sustainability and eco-friendly building techniques, scheduled to open at the Milan Triennial. It will be accompanied by preparatory events including public discussions of the topics, conferences and educational and technical seminars.

Fashion: Women's ready-to-wear
February 24

Fashion season really kicks off with New York fashion week on February 11. Milan's well-established, luxury-focused event opens February 24 with presentations of Fall/Winter collections for 2010/2011.

Art: "Schiele e il suo tempo" (Schiele and his time)

Palazzo Reale

Forty paintings and works on paper by Schiele, accompanied by as many masterpieces by Klimt, Kokoschka, Gerstl, Moser and a variety of other representatives of early 20th-century Viennese culture.

Design: I Saloni: Interior Design Fair

I Saloni is the Europe's leading trade fair for interior design. It covers furnishing, home accessories, lighting products and creations by young designers.
This trade fair comprises several salons such as the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Euroluce and the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition.
