Julia Roberts and Julianne Moore are other stars who were expressing interest in guest shots on the show to creator Ryan Murphy, backstage at the Golden Globes, according to People magazine.
The hour-long hit, on Fox Television in the US, follows an earnest teacher and his group of high school underdogs who find their true potential singing in the "Glee Club." Traditional glee clubs, are similar to choirs, but with shorter songs called "glees." But on the TV show, the young singers perform pop songs, from Neil Diamond to Billy Idol, in choreographed musical numbers.
The title plays on the meaning of the word "glee" as joy or delight. "Gleeks" are the name of fans. The show also airs in the UK, Italy, and Australia. The next season starts again in April in the US.
Two volumes of original cast recordings of songs performed in the first season have been released, both making the Billboard's album charts, the first Glee, the Music reaching number four and the second hitting number three.
