From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.'One night, eight teenagers, a remote mountain on the anniversary of their friend’s mysterious death… The power’s out, there’s no phone reception and you’re trying to get the blonde cheerleader to notice you. What could possibly go wrong?' So goes the official synopsis for Until Dawn, gaming’s equivalent of the teen horror slasher courtesy of Supermassive Games.
Expect all the usual ingredients from a script bordering on just this side of cringe, a sexy young cast, an isolated location, a devious killer and, of course, a dark secret culminating in that all-important twist. Developed exclusively for PS3, Sony are hoping that Until Dawn will make you look at your Move controller in a 'totally different way,' as it becomes your torch guiding you through the dark as you attempt to survive until sunrise.
In fact, with the game having been developed exclusively for the motion peripheral, you can expect to be doing rather more with the device than just using it to direct the light with the controller said to make your character’s hand 'feel like your own' no matter what it's up to.
Apparently players will step into the shoes of seven different characters in all as they pass the torch to one-another and venture out alone; always a good idea in the world of the slasher horror…
Until Dawn is due for 2013 and we’ll bring you more as it’s announced.
