Developers Hello Games have fixed bugs and other problems with the hugely popular – but controversial – game. But players are still angry that bigger updates haven’t been promised.
The fixes came with three new patches released over the weekend. They looked to fix the bugs with the game, but didn’t bring any new features or visible changes.
The company wrote in a blog post that it would look to fix the existing problems with the games first. It would then go on to add new features, according to the post – suggestions from users have included multiplayer modes and new ways of interacting with the game’s huge number of different planets.
The three updates fixed a variety of problems, including adding support for more hardware and fixing glitches, according to the post. The post only detailed what had been changed in the PC update, rather than the one for PlayStation 4 that was released at the same time.
Developers said that the team was working hard on fixing support issues for now.
“Right now the team is fully focused on categorising and fixing support issues in order of priority, based on the number of people they are affecting,” the team wrote on Steam. “The information and crash dumps you’ve posted have been indispensable in helping us track down and fix these issues.
“We’ve now released 3 patches, and hopefully they really improve the experience for everybody. As you can see it’s been a huge amount of work for a small team. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
But the post received mostly angry comments from people who wanted new features now.
“Advertisting with scripted/animated videos which do not even reflect the build we players have bought,” wrote one. “You guys are liars. Thats all.”
Another said that the company should use some of the revenue generated through the game to increase the team and add features more quickly.
“Is it not possible to increase your Team now?” another commenter wrote. “The game has sold very well so it would be the right time for some ... enlagement i think.
“I like the game but it could be better imo.”
Many of the rest of the comments suggested new features or criticised developers for not having added new ones already.
