The latest SingStar selection offers a new feature that allows players to scroll through songs by speaking into the wireless mics (if you own them) rather than fiddling with a joypad. But while it makes gameplay run more smoothly, the title itself – or more accurately, the titles it holds – is a very mixed bag. Pop Edition has a few hoary old classics but it mainly comprises songs by the likes of the Kings of Leon, Black Kids and Alphabeat – all great acts but not necessarily good karaoke ones.
