Fortnite crosses over with Houseparty

Hit battle royale game Fortnite is launching a subscription service option called Fortnite Crew.

The scheme will begin on 2 December, at the beginning of the game’s next season, Chapter 2, Season 5.

Players can choose to pay £9.99 each month on a rolling basis to receive every full season battle pass, along with a host of other benefits.

These include a stipend of 1,000 V-Bucks every month, which can be used on Item Shop content.

Also offered to Fortnite: Crew subscribers is a monthly Crew Pack, which consists of an “always-new Outfit Bundle” only available to members of the Crew.

When the service launches in December, players will be able to receive an all-new exclusive Galaxia Outfit and Style, as well as the Cosmic Llamacorn Pickaxe and Fractured World Back Bling.

Subscriptions to Fortnite Crew can be bought from the Item Shop or Battle Pass purchase screens within the game itself, and can be cancelled at any time.

Fortnite is currently one of the most popular video games in the world, and is credited with popularising the battle royale genre; a gameplay set-up which has been adopted by other major franchises, including Call of Duty: Warzone.

Fortnite also recently released optimised versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, which feature enhanced technical specs.
