Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

One sure-fire way to feel put together is with new and matching underwear.

Whether someone sees it, or it stays out of sight beneath your clothes, wearing something a little fancy can be a real mood booster. It doesn’t need to be for a special occasion either – it can be a great pick me up on any day.

Thankfully it needn’t be a costly expense either, as high street brands have upped their lingerie game to offer pieces that don’t scrimp on quality or make you wince as you hand over your bank card.

M&S is at the forefront, leading the way with its in-house Autograph range and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley collection.

The latest launch is a collaboration between guest designer Damaris Evans and M&S’s in-house team. Evans is the founder of luxury lingerie labels Damaris and Mimi Holliday, but this new edit for summer 2021 is budget-friendly and full of beautiful lacework and summery pastels starting from just £8.

Available now online and in-store, it’s stocked in sizes 28A-42H and UK6-28. You can expect a vibrant colour palette of apricot, peach and pops of yellow across bralettes, knickers, a cami set and more.

It’s also not the last collection you can expect. Soozie Jenkinson, head of lingerie design for M&S, said: “This marks the first of several lingerie collections... with the next collections launching in May.”

Ahead we’ve explored the full collection, so you peruse at your leisure and find a new addition to your underwear drawer that’ll add a splash of colour.

You can trust our independent round-ups. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections, which are formed from real-world testing and expert advice. This revenue helps to fund journalism across The Independent.

Boutique x Damaris padded plunge bra: £20, Marksandspencer.com

(M&S)

If you want a bit of lift and for your bust to look smoother beneath your clothes, this padded bra is perfect. It’s in a plunge style too, so you can wear low-cut tops without it peeking through and you don’t have to forgo wearing a bra altogether. The apricot fabric adorned with yellow detailing and a scalloped edge, meanwhile, is a fun way to add spring shades to your underwear drawer.

Boutique x Damaris high waist knicker: £10, Marksandspencer.com

(M&S)

We love a high-waisted style for a bit more coverage – it’s perfect if the thought of a low-rise design makes you shudder. With bright yellow panelling and a pretty bow in the centre, they’re form-flattering and scream that summer is nearly here. And £30 for a matching set is an absolute steal. We’ll be adding these and the matching bra to our shopping basket immediately.

(M&S)

This cami set, with a loose-fitting spaghetti-strap top and matching shorts, will make going to bed a stylishly comfortable affair.

While there’s a low v-neck design, the mesh panelling with yellow detailing will stop you from feeling overexposed. We love the sheer section on the sides of the shorts, too.

Boutique x Damaris bralette: £18, Marksandspencer.com

(M&S)

This bralette has a thicker band underneath the bust and is free from padding and underwires, so if you want something more comfortable and with less structure, this is ideal. Thanks to M&S’s generous sizing, it should suit all bust sizes.

Boutique x Damaris knicker: £8, Marksandspencer.com

(M&S)

This traditional brief design is ideal if you don’t want a thong or a high-waisted knicker. It still looks just as good as the other cuts, with sheer panelling and yellow detailing on top of the peachy hue, making it a comfortable but colourful design.
