Earlier this year, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck threw it all the way back to 2002 by getting officially engaged again – and now, they’ve tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in Las Vegas, 18 years after they called off the first wedding.
Rekindling their romance last spring, the singer announced their marriage on Sunday via her OntheJLo newsletter with the heading “We did it”. Signing off her post with Jennifer Lynn Affleck, she wrote: “Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
Lopez told fans that the couple flew to the city on Saturday, stood in line for their licence with four other couples and were married just after midnight at the Little White Chapel which features a drive-through “tunnel of love”.
Donning two outfits for the occasion, the first was a dress from an “old movie” that the singer had been saving and the second was a lacy off-shoulder creation designed by Zuhair Murad, while she revealed Affleck opted for a jacket from his own closet. Showing off her new understated wedding ring that appears to be crafted from white gold, Lopez posted a make-up free Instagram the morning after.
Back in April, JLo announced her engagement in the same newsletter and gave fans a first look at her engagement ring – and while the wedding may have been a low-key affair, the showstopping large green-stone diamond ring was the opposite.
Much like the singer’s pink-stone ring from the couple’s first engagement in 2004, the ring is likely worth millions. This one is rumoured to be centred with a rare 8.5-carat natural green diamond.

Crafted from responsibly sourced gold, the 18ct yellow gold ring has been hand carved using a technique known as cire perdue. “You should also consider how careful you are likely to be while wearing it, as emeralds are delicate gemstones and can get damaged. This is not an ideal choice for clumsy brides-to-be,” our reviewer also noted.

Ideal for arty brides, this tiny hands ring from New York jeweller Anthony Lent looks like a miniature sculpture. “Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, this ring feels delicate when on the finger and reminiscent of antique Victorian jewels, which used hand motifs as an artistic tool,” said our reviewer. “A tiny diamond (0.04ct) and a small emerald (0.19ct) bring both sparkle and colour, and though emeralds are notoriously brittle, this design has a sturdy setting that should protect the gem during daily wear,” they added.
