Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. This season's bold lips and statement-making eyes were complemented by toned-down, barely-there blush and the occasional hit of hot pink. Skin was flushed from within. A clean, raw, polished beauty.
1. Bobbi Brown Glow to Go Blush & Illuminate: £25, Bobbi Brown
Vivienne Westwood sent girls down the runway this season sporting the softest pink blush. Romantic, ethereal and otherworldly, you can get the look with this mini cheek palette. It has a limited edition French Pink blush and a liquid illuminator to instantly lift the cheekbones. And it’s all wrapped up in a festive gold compact, with a faux leather finish and mirror.
2. L'Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Highlight in Icy Glow: £6.99, Superdrug
The illuminated, radiant skin seen at Balmain can be achieved with this inexpensive, multi-tasking highlighter. For a pearlescent, lit-from-within glow apply under make-up all over, or mix with your foundation. Alternatively, dot on top of your make-up where the light naturally hits the skin – down the length of the nose, under the brow bone, top of the cheekbones and above the cupid's bow of your lips - for complexion perfection.
3. Revlon Photo Ready Instafix Highlighting Stick: £9.99, Superdrug
From a subtle highlight down the bridge of the nose, to stellar strobing on the cheekbones, temples and above the lips, these radiance sticks will achieve the reflective finish seen high on the cheekbones at the Oscar de la Renta show. Lightweight and non-dragging, a sweep of radiance has never been so easy. Use Gold Light on warm skin tones and Pink Light on cooler complexions.
4. Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Rouge Blush in Hot Pink: £15.50, Look Fantastic
Go for a pop of colour on the cheeks as seen at Michael Kors, with this hot pink creamy blush. Dot onto the apple of your cheeks and blend with fingertips to create a winter-walk, rosy flush. It’s also easy to build up more colour for a real pink hit. Fragrance free and packed with free radical-fighting anti-oxidants, vitamin E and grape seed oil, it handily doubles up as a beautiful lip tint. If you prefer a powder blush to swirl on the apples of the cheeks though, try the new Marc Jacobs Air Blush in Night Fever & Hot Stuff. Air powder pigments create seamless colour for incredible natural radiance.
5. Delilah Colour Blush Compact Powder Blusher in Lullaby: £26, Space NK
Flushed cheeks at Alberta Ferretti and a pink flush dusted over the apples of cheeks at Thom Browne gave the models a fresh, rosy-cheeked, winter glow. Get the look with this lightweight, silky, paraben-free powder blush and perk up tired skin.
6. L'Oreal Paris True Match Powder Illuminator in Golden Glow: £7.99, Boots
A tawny blush used under the cheekbones at Blumarine gave a contoured look to the models. Enhance and sculpt cheekbones with this three-shade palette. 7. Rosie for Autograph Highlighter Powder in Rose Bud: £18, M&S
Use this loose, ultra-fine illuminating powder to get the radiant look from Tommy Hilfiger. Models sported contoured cheeks with a pretty sweep of highlighter at the top of the cheekbones.
8. Kiko Milano Flower Enriched Blush in Sinuous Coral: £12.90, Kiki Cosmetics
There was a fresh and natural look with just a hint of blush at Carolina Herrera this season. You can get the look with this two shade palette containing a matte dusky pink and a sheeny coral pink.
9. Autograph Multi Blusher in Pink Mix: £12.50, M&S
Salvatore Ferragamo used a taupe on the cheekbones and a rose pink tapped on top over the apples of the cheeks to add freshness. Get the look faster and with just one sweep of colour with this silky-soft multi-blush that blends a dusky pink, coral pink and a fawn all in one palette.
10. Natural Collection Highlighter in Rose Glow: £1.99, Boots
Alexander McQueen showcased beautiful moonlit skin, while Vera Wang’s models looked positively ethereal this season. A quick swipe with this inexpensive, creamy, pearlescent soft-pink highlighter adds an instant sheen.
The Verdict: Autumn winter blushers
L'Oreal Paris True Match is by far the most versatile – powders and liquids in pink for pale skin tones and gold for warmer. Daniel Sandler Hot Pink is so easy to apply and gives an instant pop of colour to create healthy, glowing cheeks. And Delilah Lullaby makes tired skin perky and fresh. But Bobbi Brown's mini cheek palette has a truly beautiful pink that suits all, and a cheekbone-enhancing illuminator to effortlessly lift the face.
