Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Now that 2024 is underway, the January sales have officially begun. The annual shopping event sees big discounts applied to everything from air fryers and fashion to mattresses and dehumidifiers. Tech such as laptops, TVs, smartphones, speakers, and headphones and earbuds are among the most popular purchases during the January sales each year.

Major retailers such as Currys, Argos, John Lewis and Amazon are all offering their own impressive deals on products from big-name brands, including the likes of Sony, Google, Apple, Samsung, LG and more.

In our experience, lots of retailers tend to reheat their Boxing Day deals as we enter January, so it pays to do some research before you shop around. To help you find the very best tech deals in the January sales, our team of IndyBest experts is on hand to highlight the biggest discounts on tech we’ve tested and can recommend. Happy shopping!

When will the best January sales tech deals begin in 2024?

The January sales officially started on 1 January (unsurprisingly) but, as with other big sales events, such as Black Friday, you’ll likely have spotted extra-keen retailers kicked off their sales early. When it comes to tech deals, discounts have been appearing since Boxing Day.

When will the best January sales tech deals end?

The January sales typically run for the entire month, but most retailers focus their efforts on the first two weeks of the year. The sale is often used as a way to clear out old stock to make way for newer products – particularly when it comes to TV deals – so, the most popular discounts are likely to sell out before the month is over.
