The return of Han Solo?

In a video posted to Twitter, director Ron Howard teased a new Star Wars instalment focused on the iconic character.

After tweeting that production had just wrapped, Mr Howard unveiled a sign with the upcoming film's apparent title.

“I'll see you next year”, he said.

The film has taken a winding road to completion. Mr Howard took over as a replacement to Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who had reportedly been clashing with producer Kathleen Kennedy.

Among the changes Mr Howard instituted was cutting actor Michael Kenneth Williams, best known for portraying Omar on “The Wire.”

A new Star Wars movie - not a spinoff like the Han Solo picture but a continuation of the central saga - is due out this year. It is entitled “The Last Jedi”.
