What’s the best item on the breakfast menu at your hotels?

There’s a delicious spread of Turkish meats and cheeses and the waffles are also great.

What’s the one thing I should do while in Istanbul, to make me feel like a local?

Take the ferry across the Bosphorus from the European side to the Asian side and stroll through the Kadikoy food market which sells a variety of local foods.

I’ve got some down time during a busy day – how should I spend it in Istanbul?

Visit the historic Grand Bazaar. Enjoy a cup of tea with local vendors and haggle to get a good deal. Afterwards, stop at a hammam to enjoy an authentic Turkish bath.

The Salacak area offers beautiful views over a variety of buildings on the edge of the Bosphorus including the iconic Maiden’s Tower.

Tell us about a hidden gem of Istanbul that isn’t normally on the tourist trail…

Sample Turkish delights, or ‘lokum’, from Haci Bekir in Karakoy. Opened in 1777, it still has the original marble floor and wooden roof with tiles.
