Mike MacEacheran

Mike MacEacheran is a freelance journalist and guidebook author who has been a regular contributor to The Independent Travel since 2016. He has visited more than 130 countries on assignment, covering everything from heliskiing in Uzbekistan and competition noodle eating in Japan to polar bear stalking in Svalbard and dog mushing in the Yukon. His areas of expertise include Scotland, where he’s based, as well as Switzerland, Austria, French Alps, the Netherlands, Canada, and the Middle East. He’s an action and adventure addict and is an expert at putting his body (and mind) on the line when travelling on commission.
