She writes news stories, exclusives and features exploring national news, social policy and global stories from a women’s angle - focusing on human rights, sexual violence, domestic abuse, abortion, health, childcare, sex work, poverty, the criminal justice system and more. Maya also writes a popular weekly free newsletter titled Independent Women. On top of this, she is the author of The Pocket Guide to the Patriarchy - a 22-chapter book published in August 2023 which explores the aforementioned issues and much more.
