Alex is an award-winning freelance writer and photographer and a regular contributor to Indy Travel. He specialises in Latin America, Iberia and Southeast Asia and has written about everything from green and conservational travel to the cultural life in locations as diverse as Phnom Penh, Pernambuco and Portugal’s Alentejo. Alex also speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish and is the only UK writer to have won Brazil’s prestigious Editora Abril Award as well as multiple others a U.S National Magazine Award for his writing and photography. He has photographed cover shots for Nat Geo Adventure, Sunday Times Travel and Wanderlust among others and writes for the Sunday Times, Guardian, Wanderlust, the Telegraph and Songlines.
