From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. The 31-year-old singer-songwriter has made it through the closed audition stages and is now preparing to take to the arena in front of a live audience, the Mirror reported.
Lizzy, whose brother has carved out a successful Hollywood career as Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga alongside Kristen Stewart, is said to have made a good impression on the judges.
“She blew them away with her husky, soulful vocals. She’s different to usual X Factor contestants – she really stands out. She could go all the way,” a source told the newspaper.
An X Factor spokesman declined to comment on the reports.
Lizzy enjoyed chart success back in 2003 when she was the lead vocalist on Milk and Sugar’s Ibiza-inspired remake of “Let the Sun Shine”, which reached number one in the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. She also sung backing vocals for the Twilight films.
This year’s X Factor judging panel will be made up of Simon Cowell, former Spice Girl Mel B, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who herself achieved fame on singing show Popstars: The Rivals.
The X Factor returns to ITV on Saturday 30 August.
