Poor old Stereo Kicks, the ailing eight-piece boyband end up with another member this week after comedian Lee Nelson stormed the stage during their tuneful performance of Michael Jackson’s ‘You Are Not Alone’.
The boys soldiered on while Louis could be seen furiously gesturing to the security to get rid of the extra boy. Kudos to the guy though for pretending he was in the band before Louis realised he had acquired another Stereo Kick-er.
But enough of that and onto some silliness of a different kind.
Halloween may have been last week but Stevi Ritchie gave a terrifying rendition of Queen’s classic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Simon Cowell called it ‘one of the great X Factor performances of all time’, it was certainly memorable. Stevi looked “Freddy-fied” – his moustache seemed to be a tribute to Freddy Mercury and Movember.
Let’s be honest though, Stevi brings the fun to X Factor. No one can fault him for the entertainment value he brings every time he takes to the stage. It’s going to be a while yet before we will lose him. If someone ran on stage while Stevi was performing, he would probably end up dancing with them and get the security staff involved as well.
Michael Jackson versus Queen week serves up some solid performances from the favourites. Andrea Faustini, Fleur East, Lauren Platt and Paul Akister were all on form as always and belted out their tracks as if they had been doing it for years.
Meanwhile Jay James seems to be falling out of favour and entering the danger zone as his rendition of Queen’s ‘The Show Must Go On’ didn’t quite hit the spot with the judges. Despite the earlier drama, Stereo Kicks may also find themselves back in the bottom two sing-off tomorrow.
