When singing the winning song, a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young”, according to reports, people in attendance were given torches to wave.
Audience members noted that they were told by producers not to use them during Reggie ’N’ Bollie’s performance, instead being made to save them for the 17-year-old’s.
“We were all given torches at the beginning, but were told to use them for Louisa's performance..” wrote one person on Twitter.
Author Emma Kennedy waded in, writing how the “crowd were given torches but told they could only use them for Louisa. Sad times for R&B.”
The comments have lead to allegations that ITV ‘fixed’ the results, with people noting that the winners song was a ballad suited to Louisa’s singing tastes rather than Reggie ’N’ Bollie’s up-beat performance style.
Singer Jess Glynne wrote: “How can you give them the same song? That's not fair.. 2 completely different artists!”
There were also claims the show was fixed after Louisa’s official account posted a message that read, via OK: ”X Factor-winner Louisa Johnson's new single is out now! Get the winner's single 'Forever Young' on iTunes now.” See below.
One Tweeter wrote: "That kind of proves it". ITV have revealed that 53.9% of the votes on Saturday night were for Louisa, while 38.9% were for the duo.
The remaining 7.2% of the vote was for Ché Chesterman who was eliminated that night.
Rumours are also swelling that the X Factor may be over as ITV have bought the rights to rival show The Voice. However, the channel has indicated that a next season is happening.
