From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The famous mansion from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has been listed on Airbnb by none other than the show’s lead star, Will Smith.

The California property was the setting for the NBC sitcom that ran from 1990 to 1996.

Smith, who announced a reboot of the series last week, said he is working with the mansion's owners.

“It’s just as fly as it was when I first rolled up the driveway,” Smith wrote in the  Airbnb description. “And this time, I’m handing you the keys so you’ll have my wing of the mansion all to yourself – but my sneaker collection is off limits, aight?”

Fans of the show can stay in the bedroom of Smith’s character, and “all meals will be provided and served on silver platters, of course”. There is also a pool – “great for dips”.

The listing also states that guests can raid Smith’s wardrobe, play basketball inside and listen to throwback classics on the record player.

Overnight bookings are $30 (£23) and are available on five specific dates only (2, 5, 8, 11 and 14 October). Booking opens on 29 September.

While Smith will not be there to greet guests, his music collaborator DJ Jazzy Jeff and a socially distanced mansion concierge will welcome visitors virtually upon arrival.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Find out where the series’ cast are now, three decades after its initial US release.
