‘The Past Is Calling’: Westworld Season 2, Episode 8 Teaser

Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Westworld gave over an entire episode to providing some backstory for the Shogunworld hosts, but so far in the show we've learned next to nothing about the Native American characters that roam the Wild West park.

That looks set to change in season 2 episode 8 which, judging by the teaser trailer, centres on the tribesman we're used to seeing in warpaint and and what looks to be a new character (possibly his daughter or partner).

The Native Americans were kind of overlooked during the mass awakening of the hosts, and the trailer references this, the tribesman saying:

"Take my heart when you go. The past was calling me, but before I could understand it, they took everything from me."

The emphasis on these characters is probably also simply down to the fact the show doesn't want to risk giving anything away, and I'm sure there will be a sub-plot taking places in the labs.

Once episode 8 airs on Sunday there will be just two episodes left in Westworld season 2.

The show is broadcast on HBO in the US and through Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
