With the final episode of the Marvel TV series released today (Friday 5 March) at 8am UK time, many fans in the US stayed up to watch the finale as soon as it went live.
However, a number of users found themselves encountering an error message telling them that Disney+ “cannot play the video you requested”.
Disney’s troubleshooting website says that the error code 39 displayed is used to indicate “that the video you are trying to watch cannot be watched at this time”. It could be the result of technical problems but also watching on an unsupported device or with an unstable connection, the page says.
Trying to watch the highly anticipated finale, some viewers shared their frustration as they couldn’t get the page to load.
“Disney Plus crashed haha still waiting to watch the WandaVision episode,” one subscriber wrote, while one added: “I was literally 5 seconds into WandaVision when Disney Plus crashed, a true tragedy.”
