Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Believe it or not but we're now over halfway through the first batch of the first eight episodes of The Walking Dead season 7.

This weekend's episode, titled 'The Go-Getters,' will - for the first time this season - traverse several locations including both Alexandria and the Hilltop Colony.

Following episode three 'Service' which saw fearsome antagonist Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviours commandeer the main characters' residence, a trailer was released showing Maggie (Lauren Cohan) at the Hilltop as well as Gregory (Xander Berkeley) and Paul "Jesus" Monroe (Tom Payne).

The first clip released from the upcoming episode instead focuses on Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). The former is furious that his father Rick (Andrew Lincoln) has become Negan's subordinate - the same stance Michonne held in last week's episode; following her heartfelt chat with Rick, however, Michonne now has a change of heart.

Carl tells her that his dad's wrong. "You know it," he tells Michonne who replies: "Even if I think he is, I don't know."

A the start of the clip, Carl can be heard asking Michonne: "Why didn't you go with my dad?" leading fans to wonder where Rick could have gone.

Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead fan theory is surprisingly plausible

Has he gone to the Hilltop Colony to check on Maggie? Maybe he's enacting a plan to retrieve Daryl from Negan?

We'll find out when The Walking Dead episode five debuts in the US on Sunday 20 November and in the UK the following evening at 9pm on FOX.

In the meantime, relive Negan's most disturbing quotes.
