From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

While there have been multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe-linked TV shows released over the past few years, none have centred on any of the actual Avengers.

That’s all about to change. Disney is currently working on several superhero shows featuring A-list actors, set for release on their upcoming streaming service, Disney+.

The Hollywood Reporter has released some new details on one of the shows, confirming that The Vision and Scarlet Witch finally has a writer attatched.

Jac Schaeffer, one of the scribes being the upcoming Captain Marvel, has been lined up to run the series, which will focus on the two Avengers characters.

Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen will reprise their roles. Tom Hiddleston has also been confirmed to have a solo series, focussing on his god of mischief, Loki. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will also reprise their roles as Falcon and The Winter Soldier for a team-up series.

Meanwhile, the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War – which saw Winter Soldier, Vision, Loki, Scarlett Witch and Falcon all die – has a release date and trailer. Read everything we know about Avengers: Endgame here.
