Unforgotten is finally returning to ITV for a new series.

Created by Chris Lang, the series first began in 2015 and has amassed a dedicated fanbase over the course of its following two outings.

It’s been more than two years since Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar’s DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DI Sunil “Sunny” Khan have been on screens.

But the wait is almost over – below, is everything you need to know about the new series of Unforgotten.

When is Unforgotten back and what time is it in?

The fourth series of Unforgotten will begin on ITV this Monday (22 February) at 9pm.

A broadcast date in the US is yet to be announced, but it is shown on PBS’ Masterpiece channel.

Filming for the latest series resumed in September 2020, following a hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.

What will happen in Unforgotten series 4?

The new episodes will see Cassie discover that her plans for retirement from the police force have been thwarted just as her father’s dementia is worsening – she learns she isn’t entitled to her full pension payment unless she completes her 30 years of service.

Cassie is gutted, but decides to return to work and join Sunny who is investigating the case of a headless body found dumped in a north London scrapyard. It’s frozen rock solid, leading to the conclusion that it has been stored in a domestic freezer for decades.
