Trevor Noah has come up with what he believes is a crafty way of getting Donald Trump to wear a face mask.

The Daily Show host, who is presenting segments from his home due to the coronavirus quarantine, criticised Trump for refusing to wear something over his mouth in public despite the Centre for Disease Controls’ latest guidelines that all citizens should.

“President Trump has said that these guidelines are voluntary and he will probably not wear a mask, which let’s be honest doesn’t surprise anyone,” Noah said, adding: ”He doesn’t care about safety.”

“In fact, the only way they can get him to wear a mask is to trick him like he’s a child – ‘No, Mr President, it’s not a mask. It’s a border wall for your face.’”

Mimicking Trump, Noah adds: “So, viruses are like the Mexicans of germs? I got it.”

Noah also condemned Trump’s inability to let medical professionals speak during his press briefings.

He said his advice relating to the illness, which has proved inaccurate in the past, is akin to “some random dude standing behind your doctor giving his opinion”.
