Timothee Chalamet cameos on SNL in 'flute-tooting' video

Timothée Chalamet made a surprise cameo appearance playing a flute during a segment on Saturday Night Live yesterday (10 April).

The Call Me by Your Name star, who previously hosted an episode of the series last December, featured in a pre-recorded musical skit entitled “Weird Little Flute”.

In the clip, the episode’s musical guest Kid Cudi joined castmembers Pete Davidson and Chris Redd to perform a song extolling the virtues of the popular woodwind instrument.

Parodying the use of flute samples on trap and rap hits such as “Mask Off”, the song sees Davidson comment that ““Timotheé Chalamet loves a flute”, before Chalamet himself appears on screen playing a flute solo.

Fans praised the unexpected cameo on social media, with one person writing: “Timothée Chalamet on SNL again! and he nailed it as usual.”

“Timothée Chalamet toots his flute with @KidCudi something i never knew i needed,” wrote another Twitter user.

“OMG Timothée Chalamet MADE AN APPEARANCE ON SNL!!!” wrote someone else. “THE FLUTE SONG WAS SO FUNNY.”

Another viewer described the cameo as “hilarious”.

Kid Cudi has also won praise for his musical performance on last night’s episode, during which he wore a floral dress.

Oscar-nominated Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan served as the episode’s host, with husband Marcus Mumford crashing the actor’s opening monologue.
