From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The first four minutes of The Walking Dead's midseason premiere are now available to watch, ahead of its US airing on 14 February.
It's essentially a continuation of the post-credits sequence of the midseason finale, which initially teased the future appearance of feverishly hyped villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan); seeing Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham run into a motorcycle gang who force them to stop on the proclamation, "your property now belongs to Negan."
With the rest of the scene unfolded, things really don't look good now for the trio. Having demanded to be brought back to their settlement, we end things with the gang's leader pointing two guns straight at Sasha and Abraham, having previously stated he's usually in the business of killing someone as a form of introduction.
Entitled "No Way Out", the episode's official description details; "While trying to escape Alexandria, Rick and his group meet trouble when sudden noise draws walkers towards them with what could be fatal consequences." The last episode's cliffhanger ending saw the group amidst the undead horde in their attempt to escape the city, disguised only by the stench of the zombie guts they slathered all over their bodies, when young Sam starts freaking out and crying for his mother. That'll be the sudden noise, then.
The show's midseason premiere will air in the UK on 15 February, 9PM on Fox.
