There’s another Walking Dead spin-off in the works, AMC has confirmed.

The US network announced during its quarterly Wall Street report that another show based on the zombie comic book has entered “active development”.

“We’re not at a stage where we’ll be announcing its plans to premiere,” Ed Carroll, who oversees operations at AMC, said, according to Deadline.

“But we have hired creative people that have pitched story outlines. We feel very good about the development of that series. We’re not in a position to talk about partnerships in terms of other territories or ancillary windows, other than that there’s a healthy appetite for it and we’ve had a number of conversations with a lot of players in the space.”

Following the departure Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan, The Walking Dead reached a series low ratings. However, there are currently plans for a spin-off trilogy of films centring on Lincoln’s character Rick Grimes. There’s also the spin-off Fear the Walking Dead, which has been renewed for a fifth season.

Although The Walking Dead has dipped to a series low, till remains the most-watched non-sports program on cable and has already been confirmed for season 10.
