From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Last week's episode of The Walking Dead ended in mysterious form when Rosita (Christian Serratos) sees a shrouded long-haired figure stood in the shadows holding a crossbow leading viewers to believe initially that Daryl (Norman Reedus) has come to help her in her mission to assassinate Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Upon second thoughts, however, it became clear that this character could, in fact, be Dwight (Austin Amelio), Negan's former right-hand man who has been on the cusp of betrayal for weeks now.
Loh and behold, the show's latest episode proved it was Dwight; Rosita brings him back to Alexandria and, locking him in the prison, fills Rick (Andrew Lincoln) in on the development. The outing ends with Rick - suspicous as ever - holding a gun on Dwight, ordering him to get onto his knees.
The moment arrived immediately after a plot twist that saw Sasha lock Rosita out of the Sanctuary as she ran fully armed directly into the heart of The Saviours' compound fully prepared to die in combat avenging the death of Abraham (Michael Cudlitz).
It's revealed in latest episode 'Something They Need' that Sasha survives the moment, but is caught and imprisoned by The Saviours where she attempts to acquire poison from Eugene in a bid to commit suicide.
The Walking Dead ais in the UK tonight (27 March) at 9pm on FOX.
