A new teaser has given our first glimpse of the long-touted adversary, whose name has been a constant echo throughout the show's return from its mid-season break. His threat in the comics is one only compounded by his faithful companion, and weapon of choice, the wire-wrapped baseball bat referred to only as, 'Lucille'.
It's set to be a major moment for the show, with showrunner Scott Gimple teasing that Negan may become one of television's greatest ever villains; "Negan is the ultimate version of [the] bully. And he is an incredible strategist. He can often appear capricious. He is pure id. He is this force of nature. He’s charismatic."
The promo, which aired in the Netherlands, teases the first appearance by Jeffrey Dean Morgan's take on Negan; as he utters the simple phrase, "Hi, I'm Negan."
The Walking Dead's season finale will air in the UK on FOX at 9 PM on 4 April. The show's most recent episode received a fan backlash following the surprise death of a particular character.
