Fans of The Walking Dead have been left concerned about the fate of a character following a mysterious tweet.

The latest episode of the AMC series caught up with the Hilltop residents as they debated whether to fight Alpha (Samantha Morton) and her horde of Whisperers.

Titled “Morning Star”, the new outing surprised fans by not only showing the characters preparing for Alpha’s arrival but the actual battle – as Daryl (Norman Reedus), Aaron (Ross Maarquand) and company ultimately decided to put a stop to Alpha’s murderous ways once and for all.

In the wake of the episode, though, Nadine Marissa – who has played Nabila on the show since season seven – tweeted: “Just know I love all of you and have enjoyed the ride.”

Fans were confused by the post considering that Nabila survived this particular episode.

Some were left wondering whether Marissa had accidentally dropped a spoiler and that her character dies next week.

It’s also possible that Marissa’s tweet was sent in an ironic manner considering her character’s current situation is particularly dire.

Either way, Marissa has certainly whipped up a panic regarding the forthcoming episodes.

Who will make it out of the Whisperer war alive remains to be seen, but it’s certain there will be more casualties to come.

Last week’s episode saw the surprise death of a character, which sparked backlash among fans.

The Independent spoke to actor Lindsley Register following the incident, who discussed her time on the show as well as how she felt about the handling of her character’s death.

The Walking Dead airs every Sunday in the US on AMC and the following day in the UK on FOX and NOW TV.
