From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. As the first half of Fear The Walking Dead wraps up, attention has turned to season seven of The Walking Dead, fans still wondering “Who did Negan kill?”
Daryl Dixon himself, Norman Reedus, has already been asked the question “about a zillion times”; something he’s getting a little annoyed at because he can’t answer in any meaningful way without giving away spoilers. And he hates spoilers.
“I don’t like spoilers, to be honest,” he told Entertainment Weekly Radio. “I like the enthusiasm behind everyone wanting to know, but it’s a good feeling to have that enthusiasm, so let’s hold onto it.”
However, one thing he can talk openly about is his excitement for season seven, something he couldn’t emphasise enough.
“Trust me,” he told the Radio show. “I think probably the planet is going to explode. That’s my feeling. It’s so good. Every time we go on a promotional tour talking about what’s going to come, we all say ‘Oh my God, it’s amazing. I can’t wait for you to see it.’ But it continually surprises me how this show grows and is put together and the execution of it – no pun intended.
“It blows my mind. It just continually reaches a new plateau every single time, and this is the highest plateau we’ve ever been. So just wait. It’s worth the wait, trust me.”
To say that’s got us just a little excited would be a massive understatement. Meanwhile, just last week, Universal Studios Hollywood announced The Walking Dead was getting its own theme park attraction.
