From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

When The Walking Dead ended its sixth season on a huge cliffhanger regarding the identity of the character bludgeoned to death by new antagonist Negan, most cast members claimed they were as much in the dark as viewers were.

Apparently, they were lying.

According to former cast member Tyler James Williams, every actor knows exactly which character will be shown deceased at the beginning of season seven. Furthermore, he claims that they all knew midway through shooting season six.

"You have to understand [showrunner Scott M. Gimple] knows everything seasons and seasons out, so people knew, but we can’t say anything," said Williams on EW Radio. "No one can say anything. So it’s actually better to say that we don’t know.”

Williams - who played Noah in seasons four and five - also claims to know, stating one of his former cast members revealed the news to him.

“We all still speak and they kind of keep me up to date and stuff on what’s going on and all of that."

Williams' character was killed off in one of the show's most gruesome moments, devoured by a horde of walkers in season five episode "Spend."

Since season six concluded, theories have been flying around stating cases as to why Negan's victim could be several different characters.

Norman Reedus - who plays fan favourite Daryl Dixon - has had his own motorcycle series commissioned by AMC while Glenn actor Steven Yeun has been cast as the lead in a new action thriller - each throwing their respective character's fates into uncertainty.

Elsewhere, this convincing fan theory places Michonne (Danai Gurira) at the forefront of death speculation.

All will be revealed when The Walking Dead returns for season seven on FOX in October.
