The brutal new crime series, which originally aired on the USA Network (the same channel that airs Mr. Robot), has been wowing audiences since it began earlier this summer.
It's an adaptation of the 1999 novel by German crime writer Petra Hammesfahr following Cora Tanetti, a mother played by Jessica Biel who one day - while out with her family at the beach - is compelled to murder a seemingly innocent man in cold blood. In an intriguing spin, the series focuses not on what happened, but why the crime was committed.
The detective investigating the murder is Harry Ambrose, here played by Bill Pullman, while Cora's husband is played by Girls actor Christopher Abbott.
Positive buzz surrounding the series currently sees The Sinner hold a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94% with its amassed ratings in the US seeing it hailed as the most popular new cable show of 2017. UK viewers are finally catching up.
It seems The Sinner could follow in the footsteps of sitcom The Good Place - which stars Kristen Bell and Ted Danson - as one of Netflix UK's most popular imports and most certainly foots the bill for those who have just finished the first ten episodes of crime saga MINDHUNTER.
The Sinner is available to watch on Netflix UK now.
