From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The Masked Singer revealed its sixth celebrity on tonight’s episode (30 January).

The hit ITV series sees a roster of celebrities dress up in elaborate costumes that conceal their identity, and compete in a singing competition.

During the episode, all seven remaining competitors performed before the TV audience, as well as judges Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall.

At the end of the programme, the judges decided to send Blob home.

After he was chosen for elimination, it was then revealed that Blob’s identity was in fact actor and comedia Sir Lenny Henry.

Davina McCall was the only judge to have guessed Henry correctly.

Henry is one of the best loved actors in Britain, appearing in sitcoms and dramas respectively.

The clue which showed him paying with a cheque was a nod to the fact he co-founded Comic Relief in 1985.

Henry said his decision to appear on the show was inspired by boredom due to spending the majority of the past year in lockdown.

The latest episode featured a double elimination, and also revealed the identity of Viking.

The Masked Singer continues on ITV at 7pm every Saturday. Next week will be the semi-final featuring guest judge Matt Lucas.
