The Great British Bake Off viewers have called for the most recently eliminated contestant to be given their own spin-off show.

Tuesday night’s episode (3 November) saw the first-ever 1980s-themed week on Bake Off, with the contestants battling to make some throwback-themed bakes recorded on the hottest day of the year.

Sadly, it was fan favourite Lottie who didn’t make the cut, after her ice-cream cake showstopper was branded “terrible” and “underwhelming” by the judges.

Tearing up as she was eliminated, she described her exit as “a massive relief”, adding: “Obviously I’m gutted to see everyone… not be with everyone everyday.”

Many fans online shared their disappointment at the pantomime producer’s exit, saying that they would miss Lottie’s sarcastic comments – having previously told Noel Fielding that “cakes are boring” – and her knowing looks to camera.

“Lottie’s gone from Bake Off, is it even worth watching anymore,” one viewer commented.

“On top of everything else, Lottie going out of Bake Off might tip me over the edge,” another wrote.

In particular, it was her friendship with Fielding that was mourned online, with the presenter giving Lottie a big embrace as she was eliminated.

“Lottie and Noel to host Bake Off in 2021,” one fan tweeted, which was echoed by another who wrote: “Starting a petition for Lottie and Noel to host the Bake Off next year.”

“*Starts campaign for a new show with Noel and Lottie*,” one viewer commented.

“We need a program with Lottie and Noel driving around in a hearse being dry and sarcastic about stuff,” another suggested.

Five GBBO contestants now remain, with the contestants set to tackle Dessert Week in next week’s episode.
