Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is coming to the UK, airing on ITV2 from 18 January.

It won't be old repeats either, with Variety reporting the channel will show new episodes from the current season in line with their US air dates.

It's exciting news, considering DeGeneres' natural affability has attracted some of the most high-profile guests around; recent interviews include the Star Wars: The Force Awakens' cast, Hillary Clinton, and Justin Bieber. The show has so far won 55 Daytime Emmys, including 9 for outstanding daytime talk show.

DeGeneres joked of the move, "“After what feels like decades of campaigning I’m so excited that my show is on ITV2. I can literally feel my crumpets tingling down in my cockles.”

The UK can now afford to look forward to a whole host of DeGeneres' usual antics, including her particular penchant for scaring the absolute bejesus out of celebrities. Deceptively simple, yet weirdly magical in its execution.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show will air every weekday at 1.45pm.
