From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Netflix has confirmed who will play Camilla Parker Bowles in The Crown season three.

Emerald Fennell will star as the Duchess of Cornwall in the Emmy Award-winning series that has recast its characters as it enters a new era.

Fennell, who is best known for BBC series Call the Midwife, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon, and completely terrified, to be joining so many hugely talented people on The Crown. I absolutely love Camilla, and am very grateful that my teenage years have well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl haircut.”

British actor Tobias Menzies recently replaced Matt Smith as the Duke of Edinburgh in the new season of the hit series which will also star Olivia Colman and Helena Bonham Carter.

Broadchurch star Colman will appear as Queen Elizabeth II, a role originally played by Claire Foy, while the latter will succeed Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.

Josh O'Connor will play Prince Charles with the character of Princess Diana set to appear towards the end of the season. It's currently unknown who she'll be played by.
