Amazon’s hit series The Boys is getting a new spin-off set in a college exclusively for young superheroes.

A spin-off has been in the works for a while, but development on the new series is being fast-tracked in light of the huge success of The Boys’ second season.

Deadline reports that the untitled series, written by the original show’s executive producer Craig Rosenberg, will take place on a college campus for young adult superheroes.

It seems fans can expect the usual satire and raunch of The Boys, with the spin-off being described as an  “irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities”.

According to Amazon, the second season of The Boys had the most-watched global audience of an Amazon original series ever.

The superhero show, based on The New York Times best-selling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, was renewed for a third season ahead of its season two premiere on 4 September.
