At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference. The Big Bang Theory fans were left in shock by season 10’s finale, which ended with Sheldon (Jim Parsons)’s surprise proposal to Amy (Mayim Bialik) – one left unanswered.
The show, however, was swift to resolve things in season 11’s premiere: it’s a yes. That said, Amy and Sheldon’s engagement turned out not to be the biggest news of the episode, with Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) discovering she’s pregnant again.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Steve Holland said of the proposal, “it’s hard to imagine a world where she’s going to say no.”
Despite the show’s writers trying to add a little tension into the mix by having Sheldon’s admirer Dr. Ramona Nowitzki (Riki Lindhome) make her move and kiss him – what would happen if Amy found out? – it seemed things were always going to work out for the pair.
“This is a thing she’s wanted for so long that it felt like we were going to have to gin up reasons for her to say no,” Holland added.
He added that he’s unsure whether the two will actually get married this season, but that it’s likely we’ll see episodes centered on the bachelor and bachelorette parties at some point.
The Big Bang Theory airs Mondays at 8pm ET, before moving to its regular Thursday time slot 2 November on CBS. No air date has been announced for the UK.
