Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

While the show continues to pull in some big names, the list of celebrities due to make an appearance is rather longer than fans of the Nineties chat show may remember.
In addition to Jeremy Clarkson making his first TV interview since his Top Gear dismissal, at least 13 other public figures will be gracing our screens.
Tom Daley, Nick Grimshaw, Amanda Seyfried and Rudimental have been drafted in to appeal to the generation born at the turn of the 21st century, tuning in with only a vague idea of who presenter Chris Evans is.
On the other hand, mid-Nineties stalwarts Shaun Ryder, Ian Broudie and former Oasis bandmates Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, Liam Gallagher and Zak Starkey are on hand to provide some nostalgia.
The full list of celebrities confirmed to appear is as followed:
- Blur
- Shaun Ryder
- Years & Years
- Rudimental
- Liam Gallagher
- Roger Daltrey
- Ian Broudie
- Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs
- Zak Starkey
- Tom Daley
- Nick Grimshaw
- Amanda Seyfried
- Jeremy Clarkson
- Kenneth Branagh
But Channel 4 has confirmed “there may also be a number of special guests and surprises” too.
TFI Friday returns for a 90 minute special at 9pm on Channel 4 on Friday 12 June.
