From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's Arrmageddon novel Good Omens is to be adapted for the radio for the first time.

The 1990 book tells the story of angel and demon Aziraphale and Crowley who team up to try and save the world from an impending apocalypse.

Mark Heap and Peter Serafinowicz will star in the leads for the play, set to air on BBC Radio 4 as a "splendid Christmas treat" in December.

Other actors on board for the audio series come from TV shows including Game of Thrones, Peep Show, Ripper Street and Sherlock.

Gaiman and Pratchett will make cameo appearances themselves, alongside Colin Morgan, Louise Brealey, Simon Jones, Julia Deakin, Clive Russell, Phil Davis, Mark Benton and Arsher Ali.

Broadcast dates are yet to be announced, but listeners can expect five parts across one week before an hour-long Saturday finale.

Gaiman's Neverwhere was adapted for radio last year, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and James McAvoy.

Its director, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy's Dirk Maggs, will also be behind Good Omens, which was proposed as a TV series in 2011 but never reached screens.
