From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Ted Lasso recently picked up four Emmy Awards, and fans are already asking when a third season is on its way.

The Apple TV+ series took home the top prize for Outstanding Comedy Series, while Jason Sudekis, who plays the titular football coach, was awarded the gong for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

Brett Goldstein and Hannah Waddingham also won supporting actor awards for their performances in the Apple Plus show.

With Ted Lasso being such a hit with critics and audiences, fans are thinking ahead to the next chapter of the show, which has been praised for its depiction of mental health.

While the second season is still airing on Apple Plus, a third was commissioned last year, shortly after the conclusion of the first and is set to go into production in early 2022.

The cast and crew of the show have also received large pay rises ahead of the third season, with Sudeikis set to be $1 million (£730,000) per episode.

Whilst a third season has been confirmed, it has also been suggested that it will be the last of the show. Sudeikis, who is also an executive producer on Ted Lasso, has said that the series has a three season arc.

“The story that’s being told—that three-season arc—is one that I see, know, and understood. I’m glad that they are willing to pay for those three seasons. As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don’t know,” he told Entertainment Weekly earlier this year.

Whilst the release date is currently unknown, the first season and second seasons both premiered in the summer so expect season three to be released somewhere over July and August of 2022.
